Privacy Policy

Files and messages
Files and messages you exchange with FileSwap are encrypted end-to-end in your browser and travel directly between the two devices. They are never uploaded to or stored on our servers, and we cannot read them.
Connection set-up
To connect two devices, a signalling server exchanges short technical connection data (such as a temporary session ID and network addresses) between the browsers. This data is used only to establish the connection and contains none of your content.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit the site and how it is used (for example pages viewed, approximate location at country/city level, device and browser type). This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you, and it never includes your files or messages. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technology. You can block it with your browser settings or an ad/tracking blocker without affecting the Service.
Contact form
If you use the Contact form, we receive the message you write together with technical information about your visit (such as the page, browser, device type, IP address and approximate location) so we can respond and prevent abuse. This is used only to handle your enquiry.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. Data is shared only with the service providers needed to run the site (hosting, signalling and analytics), or where required by law.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal data we hold about you, and to object to its processing. Contact us via the Contact form. You may also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
Changes
We may update this policy. The current version is always available on this page.
